- Accumulator bet - An accumulator bet is a single stake, betting on the outcome of four or more selections in different events, all of which must be correct in order to win the bet. The amount of money that you could win with an accumulator bet is substantial, but the odds of winning are low.
- Ante-post - A bet that is made on an event well before the date on which the event takes place. For example, if you wanted to bet on the outcome of the World Cup Football final twelve months before it happened, this would be classed as an ante-post bet.
- Asian Line Betting - Asian Line Betting is a type of football bet in which you minimise any potential losses by betting on more than one possible outcome of a football event. However, potential returns with Asian line Betting are also lower than with other types of bet.

- Double result forecast - This is a type of bet in which you nominate both the half time and full time results of a particular football match. For example at half time the match will be a draw, and at full time the result will be away team win. The double result forecast is also known as half time/full time betting.
- Each Way bet - An each way bet is a bet on a football team or player to either win outright or be placed (e.g. to be one of the top three teams or players). You can, for example, bet on a team to either win or be placed in a football event such as the World Cup or FA Cup, or to win or be placed in a league, such as the Premiership. You can also bet, for example, on a player to either be the top scorer or one of the top three or four goal scorers in a football tournament.

- Football Pools - The Football Pools is another way in which you can bet on the outcome of football matches. The object is to identify, from the total number of matches listed on a Pools coupon, eight score draws (1-1 or 2-2, etc). All of the money staked by the bettors is placed in a kitty or central pool, which after the organisers take their cut - is shared equally amongst the winners. You can also win smaller prizes.
- Odds - Betting odds tell you how much you will be paid if your bet wins. They are expressed as a ratio, for example 2:1. If the odds are 2:1 and you bet with a £10 stake, then you would win £20 and also have your stake returned.
- Stake - Your stake is the amount that you bet on an event. If your bet is successful, your bet is returned to you together with your winnings.
