This video poker glossary will help you expand your video poker vocabulary or find definitions for video poker terms. It also contains common video poker slang and jargon. Credit Button: A button on a video poker machine which, when pressed, allows the player to use credits which they have already won in the game, or money he or she has already inserted, rather than inserting more coins. Deal Button: A button on a video poker machine which, when pressed, causes the machine to deal the cards to the player. Deuces Wild: A version of video poker in which a two can serve as a wild card and a jackpot is paid for four deuces or royal flush. When you have four aces with a five or smaller you can win an enhanced amount. Draw Button: A button on a video poker machine which, when pressed, allows the player to draw new cards. Four of a Kind: Four cards of the same value, e.g. four 10s. Flush: Five cards of the same suit in no particular order e.g. five of hearts, seven of hearts, two of hearts, nine of hearts and Queen of hearts. Full House: Three cards of one value and two cards of another value e.g. three 10s and two 5s. Hold Button: A button on a video poker machine which, when pressed, allows the player to keep cards from the original hand he or she was dealt. Jacks or Better: The original version of video poker, played with a 52-card deck and in which a pair of Jacks or any hand which is of higher value than a pair of jacks wins. Jacks or Higher: A pair of Jacks, Queens, Kings or Aces. Jokers Wild: A version of video poker in which a Joker can be used as a wild card. Multi-hand Video Poker: See multi-play video poker. Multi-play Video Poker: A version of video poker in which the player starts with a base hand of five cards, with additional played hands drawn from a different deck. Multi-play Video Poker is offered from Triple Play to as much as One Hundred Play. Royal Flush: Ten, Jack, Queen, King and Ace of the same suit. Straight: Five consecutive cards, such as Jack, Ten, Nine, Eight and Seven not in the same suit. Straight Flush: Five consecutive cards in the same suit. e.g. eight of hearts, nine of hearts, ten of hearts, Jack of hearts and Queen of hearts. Three of a Kind: Three cards of the same value e.g. three 5s. Wild Card: A designated card, such as a Joker in Jokers Wild or a two in Deuces Wild, which the player can use as a substitute for any other card in order to make a hand. |
